Fringe Quilled teddy Bear

Heyy everyone! :D

Omg I've just found the cutest quilling idea! I'ts a little teddy bear made from quilling slitted strips of paper, it can be used for decorating cards or anything really, or it can just be framed in a mini frame for a gift :D

Okay, this is what t looks like :)

This little Bear has been made from about 9 strips of paper:

Two Blue strips slitted and quilled for the arms.

Two joined blue strips for the head.

One cream strip joined with two joined blue strips for the body.

Half a white strip joined with half a blue strip for both feet :)

Here's how to make it :D

First get a blue strip and cut slits along it with scissors, not cutting completely through it though. Now do the same for another whole blue strip and join them together to make one extra long slitted strip.

(standard quilling strip length about 90 cm)

You can either buy quilling strips or make them yourself by cutting them from coloured paper.

Then quill the slitted strip as you would a normal quilling strip around your quilling tool.

Be sure to add small dots of glue as you quill the strip to make it secure :)

Once you've done, take the fringed strip off your tool and fluff out the strip to make it look like this.

Now you have the head of your teddy :D

Make two more of these only using single strips for the paws.

Now make a cream one, but before you fluff it and take it off, quill two more of the blue strips around it to make the belly and the body.

For the feet, do the same as you did for the body but with the half-size white and blue strips.

Arrange all of your fringed 'flowers' as shown in this piccie. Secure them together using glue.

For the nose of the bear, just quill an ordinary white quilling strip tightly, making a tight coil, and glue it to the head.

Cut two ears from normal blue paper (I just cut out semi circles) and stick them into the fringes, add googly eyes and your done! :D

How you present it is entirely up to you :D I stuck mine onto black card.

The finished result fits nicely into the palm of your hand, depending on how lengthy your quilled strips are :)

I hope you've enjoyed creating this :D

P.S. I apologize for the quality of the pictures, my camera chooses when it wants to work nicely for me :D Also, My bear wasn't completely dry when I took it, so some of the wet glue is still visible :) I'm just soo impatient to blog lolz XD

Heyy again!
Okay, I've decided to try again with this Fringed Bear quilling project, and have made a Panda as well.

I like this panda better because I've made it more 3d by quilling both sides as shown in the piccies :)

I've even stuck a cute crystal heart to give it more of a cute character :)

Here's the side view :) :)

This again was a blast to make :D Have fun making this, and enjoy the awesomness of it lolz

Quilling--How to quill a GBA console

Heyy :)

Okay guys, I've realised that I've not yet given clear instructions on how to quill using perler bead designs for inspiration.

So, I'm gonna show you how to make a really adorable game boy advance console by paper quilling.

First off, I'll show you the image I'm going to be working off :)

Here it is. I got this image from Google, so it doesn't belong to me. I think it's really quite nifty, don't you?

Anywho, we're gonna make this quilling style :) Of course you can just make it using perler beads, but it's so much more rewarding when you know you've made it all yourself from scratch XD

Moving on, Here are the things you're gonna need for the job, or at least the tools I'll be using, Your welcome to improvise :D

O Paper strips

O A slotted quilling tool or toothpick you can roll the strips around

O Glue (you can apply it using a skewer, toothpick, or anything pointy lolz) But I find this little squeezy tube perfect for the job, less messy and also re-fillable.

You're also gonna need a well lighted workspace because this is fiddly work :)

Now to make this quilly style, you need to cut the same number of paper strips as there are perler beads in the image.

This is gonna take a while, but to make it easier, I stuck the image on paint and crossed them off as I cut the strips so I wouldn't lose track.

The strips I made were about four millimetres wide and four centimetres long.

To make the little paper perler beads I simply rolled them into the tightest coil I could around the quilling tool, and secured it in place with a dot of glue. Push it off the tool and Hazaah! You have your first paper perler bead :D

Okay, now all you need to do is make the little beads whenever you have free time, it doesn't have to all be done in one go.

Once all of them have been made, you just need to stick them together to form the game console. I'll show my work as it progresses :)

I generally assemble the pieces in little groups and stick them all together like a jigsaw afterwards. For now i'm gonna stick all the white pieces together. This is what it looks like :D

My finger's in the piccie because it shows us the scale we're working with :)

After all the hard work we spend on making and forming the little GBA this is what it should look like :D :

However, it turned out slightly wonkier than i'd have liked, but I love it all the same :) Maybe next time I'll line them up using a ruler :D I hope you have lots of fun making this! I know I have :)

After making this I decided to try out some other mini paper perler projects and lining them together with a ruler :) This is what they look like, I hope you like them.

These were so fun to make :) Aren't they just adorable??

And they can be used for embellishing so many things, or you can even use them to make little gift scenes like this little ninja here:

Have fun with this, and make it your own! :)

Reindeer Ornament model :)

Heyy Guys!

I'm gonna show you how to make a cute little Reindeer ornament that you can hang on a tree or on your shelf :D

This is what my finished product looks like :)

This isn't an original idea, however I had to figure out how to re-create the template, because in the magazine I bought about two years ago, the template was on the back  of designer paper, which I used without copying the pattern.

Anywho this is my improvised template :D

Everything you need to construct the Reindeer is there, all you need to do is trace or print the image, then cut along the black lines, and fold along the red lines. I'll show you how to put it together :)

I've used Hot pink and Yellow card for the reindeer because I think they go quite well together :) But the choice is entirely yours.

You can use absolutely anything you want to embellish your creation, my tutorial here is merely a guide XD

This is quite a simple project to make, all you need is card (two colours) Scissors, glue or cellotape, and any optional embellishments. Good Luck and have fun! :D

This is what the reindeer looks like after folding all of the body pieces. Use glue to complete the box shape of the neck.

The neck secures to the front part of the body by sticking the largest tab of the neck to the underside of the shoulder area.

Fold the body around the remaining tabs and glue in place as shown in the picture.

Now for the head. Glue the antlers to the underside of the tab between its ears. Then dab a bit of glue to the inside of either cheek, and glue them to the neck as shown :)

All you need to do now is glue the hooves onto the feet, and embellish it anyway you want.

With my one I added ribbon for the reins and large crystal sequins to hold the ribbon down, also a heart shaped sequin for the nose, and googly eyes to give the little fella some character XD

I hope you've enjoyed making this reindeer ornament as much as I have lolz

Paper Quilling-- Characters!!!

Tis Yoshi!

Heyy :D

Okay, this is a project that I've really enjoyed making. It's Yoshi, from the super mario games series. Probably my favourite character lolz.

This project was inspired by perler beads, and is actually based on an image of a perler bead Yoshi.

All I've done is substituted the little round iron beads for quilled square pieces of paper, and stuck them onto a base of metallic blue card.

The only regret I have with this picture is that the glue splodged it's way around Yoshi, and has dried onto the card noticeably.. But heyy it's not the end of the world :) However the piccie doesn't show that to well, yay for technology!! :D

Now for The BOMB-OM

This little fella is much loved (despite it's tendacy to blow up on you XD) in the Super Mario Series. And I decided that I'd like to know what it would look like in quilled form lolz. Here it is.

I apologise for the condition of the photo, not exactly brilliant quality, but ah wells :)

This is a little bit more traditional than the style of the Yoshi I quilled (see above) but I think it looks rather cute, I just hope it doesn't explode on me for saying that lolz.

I made the lil bomb-om by quilling lots of little shapes such as leaves and hearts etc, and arranging them into a circular pattern for the body.

The eyes have been quilled and stuck on top of the body :D

Unfortunately the black card I used had white edges therefore I had to use permanent marker to make it look blacker lolz. I kinda like the result though, let me know what you think :D

Next up-- Quilled Zelda Boss Key

I've always enjoyed getting this little Boss key on the Zelda games, It's so freaking cute! I've always wanted to keep it but sadly... as it's just a game..

So what better way to get my hands on it for real than to make it myself! Hazahh XD

Anywho, this quoote little key was made in exactly the same way my Yoshi was, by quilled little squares glued together. It was also inspired by a perler bead version of the little Boss key.

However the only difference between the making of the key and Yoshi is that it has been stuck directly together rather than to a base :)

I like this so much better as It's more practical, and can even be made into a pendant for a necklace (albeit a big one lolz) fashionable though XD

Paper Quilling-- Owl

Heyy, My name is Becca, and I'm 16 years old :) I'm new to blogging, but bare with me XD

To start off with I want to show you guys some of the projects I'm currently into. Mainly quilling at the moment though lolz, it's very theraputic.

My latest attempt at quilling is an owl that I designed myself, from one of my doodles, you can see my doodle to the right of the quilled piccie :)

I've enjoyed making this and found it surprisingly easy to construct.

It's a bit rugged around the edges but I like it better for being imperfect :)

Here are some more pictures taken at different angles. I've stuck it to my bedroom dresser next to my computer which faces sideways, because I think the owl looks better viewed side on rather than from the front.

I think it's kinda cute. Don't you?

To make owlius (that is what he has been named lolz, full name is >> "owlius (The REAL petrol"

His name derived from another doodle of a fish I drew and named Petrol. I bought an owl cushion for friendship bracelet making and called that petrol too, but then there was two of them, so this owl is now the REAL one lolz :D

Anywho, I made Owlius by drawing a template of an owl and blue-tacking it to the underside of a clear sheet of laminated paper. (It's easier than buying proper clear plastic sheets and is just as effective)

Then I just quilled strips of paper into the shapes I wanted and glued them down. When it was finished I just un-tacked the base template and hazahh! Finished quilled project :)

Okay, most of the shapes I used here all come from basic quilled shapes depicted in this picture here.

These are really easy to do and give endless craft possibilities. Have fun with this. It takes time but the end products are so worth it!!
